Festival-Info: Started in 1982 as a fundraiser for AAL, this festival has blossomed into one of Phoenix's finest events. From the beginning, the event has grown from a churchyard to a small city park. It was renamed the "Coronado Renaissance Faire". Years after that the faire had outgrown their latest location and had become a respected and much anticipated event. The fairs became too large to be handled by the group of neighborhood volunteers to continue; and at the same time the event had become too valuable for the event to terminate. The City of Phoenix, Parks & Recreation Dept. came to the rescue and moved the faire to a larger location. The first year in Los Olivos Park was in 1988, and then in 1995 the faire was renamed again to become the Devonshire Renaissance Faire. The name Devonshire was taken from one of the streets where the fair takes place. Supporters of the fairs include the City of Phoenix Parks Recreation & Library Dept. and the Los Olivos Senior Center Association
